Our journey began with a vision to craft a beer that pays tribute to the traditions and legacies of African brewing. After two years of thorough market research, refining our recipe, and building our first brewery, we proudly present BRA’s Traditional Beer®—a product born from a perfect blend of history, expertise, and dedication.
With over 70 years of combined experience in the traditional beer market, we’ve honed our craft to deliver a beverage of exceptional quality and taste. Each BRA’s Traditional Beer® is a testament to generations of knowledge, culture and passion for brewing. At My Urban Africa we’ve carefully selected our packaging to best protect the product and the people who drink it. That’s why we’ve decided to only offer Bra’s in the conical carton pack. Unlike other packaging mediums cartons cannot be opened, tampered with and resealed. Once a carton is open - it’s open. Tw his tamper evidence assures you that when you open a Bra’s premium beer, what’s in the carton is 100% only the great quality beer that went into it at the brewery, and nothing else! This is a beer you can trust.

Recycling
The wood fibre in our Bra’s cartons is the strongest in the world and highly sought-after for reuse to make corrugated boxes. As such, they can and are collected and recycled alongside milk, fruit juice, mague, and inkomazi liquid cartons. MUA is a member of Fibre Circle. Repurposing – the burning question
However, there is an even more convenient way of disposing of your used Bra's cartons - you can cook with them! Independent research by both the CSIR in South Africa and the University of Lusaka in Zambia confirms that our cartons are 100% safe to cook on. There are no noxious fumes or smells given off. In fact, the cartons have a higher calorific value and give off more energy and heat than an equivalent weight piece of wood.
Lastly, Paper is good for the Environment
Trees are the lungs of our planet. They filter the air we breathe by taking in carbon dioxide and releasing fresh oxygen back into the atmosphere. The more cartons used, the more trees are planted, and the better for the air we breathe.
